Phippsburg today, 9:30am and just now, Winnegance Lake, Rt 209, THREE Mute Swans.
Of note, last summer and fall, there were two. A Mute swan was killed in the late fall. COD was electricution on the power lines that run along the causeway. I have been watching on the lake thinking that there would only be one, if any, since the one had expired. But, LO! Today there are three. This does not bode well for other birds on the lake, or kayakers. I saw someone paddle boarding there yesterday. We'll see how that goes with the agressive swans.
