[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week: 7/11-17

Hi all,

A few additional sightings of note from the past seven days for me included:

- 1 continuing Red-throated Loon, 15 continuing Black Scoters, and 2 White-winged Scoters, Simpson Point, Brunswick, 7/13 (with Jeannette).

- 20+ Piping Plovers, 14 Semipalmated Plovers (first of season), 8 Semipalmated Sandpipers (first of season), and 2 Least Sandpipers (first of season), Laudholm Beach, Wells, 7/14 (with Jeannette).

- 12+ Purple Martins, including juveniles, Atlantic/Great Hill Rd colony, Kennebunk Beach, 7/14 (with Jeannette).

- 1-2 Eastern Whip-poor-wills, Kennebunk Plains, 7/18 (with Phil McCormack).
