[Maine-birds] Popham Beach shorebirds - Jul 13

Looks like the fall migration has begun. This morning, from mid-flood to high tide:

36 Semi Sands all ad.
3 Sanderlings ad.
1 Least Sandpiper ad.
4 Semi - Plover ad.
1 B B Plover ad.
4 Willets (silent) ad.
1 continuing Spotted Sandpiper ad.
and
6 Piping Plovers (family unit of 5 incl 3 half-grown chicks)

36 Least Terns; much fish trading; carrying food to unseen chicks in grass
