[Maine-birds] Baxter Tote Rd; Nesowrdnahunk Camp; Harvester Rd.

Fox Sparrows put on a good show Wed afternoon on the Tote Rd; While taping a Swainson's Thrush song, a Fox Sparrow "butted in" and overpowered the thrush with its song. 4 singers plus 2 uttering their husky, chunky chip. Most birds West of the Tote Rd.

Crossbills in pretty good evidence. Many WW, only 2 Reds.

Loons flying south, calling as they flew. A first for me.

Both grouse, no young birds.

Alas no boreal woodpeckers. Sat for an hour plus at the Harvester Road spot - no Am 3-toed.

Chilly this morning and birds took some time to wake up. Photo'd an arms-length White Throated Sparrow sitting in a bush.
