New to the area and a long time birder. Has anyone else seen what I thought was a red throated loon today at Fort Popham? A very brave young bird diving just feet off the beach area next to the fort. Definite grey head with red throat. Is this common to this area? I would appreciate any feedback and "hotspots" for birding in the midcoast area.
