[Maine-birds] Mute Swans - Phippsburg, July 11

The 3 Mute Swans flew out of Winnegance Creek this morning at 9:15 A.M. (while the tide was high) and landed closer to the main stem Kennebec River, off the mouth of Old Mill Pond. Morse & Sons Lumber Mill is located near that spot. So if you fail to locate them in the creek, look in the other direction.

These birds should be recognizable individually. One is decidedly smaller and shorter-necked. Another has considerably more black pigment on the low knob and in the lores area. Many photos in wicked sidelight conditions.
