-- The Lincoln County News published a photo on October 29, 2015, of a chukar
partridge crossing the Bremen road in Bristol, submitted by Jo-Ann
Freburger. Is this someone's pet, or are there feral populations in Maine?
Kit, there are bird breeders in Lincoln County, and at times their stock or pets escape. We had three Bobwhites that used our feeder one winter, and a neighbor who once saw a Lady Amherst's Pheasant in her yard.
So no, there are no populations of game birds in the midcoast that I know of, except for the Ring-necked Pheasant, which we've also had cawing on the edge of the woods.partridge crossing the Bremen road in Bristol, submitted by Jo-Ann
