[Maine-birds] Probable MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, Kettle Cove, 11/27

Derek Lovitch and I just had a probable/apparent/what-else-could-it-be MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER at Kettle Cove.

We both heard a few odd-sounding chip notes at the edge of the large clearing, initially assuming it was a distant Yellow-rump, or then maybe a yellowthroat, but it didn't sound quite right. As we got closer, Derek got a brief view of it at the edge of a bittersweet-covered thicket, and noted a gray-hooded warbler with bright yellow undersides and a relatively long, narrow tail flicked up before dropping back down. It called a few more times, and the call note clicked as a MacGillivray's, but unfortunately I was unable to get a view.

We've spent the past hour trying to relocate it unsuccessfully, with increasing wind. Might check back later, but if anyone is in the area, it might be worth a check. Take the trail to the right of the bathrooms, over the bridge, and up to the main clearing. The bird was on the south side of the largest clearing.
