Good Evening...Drew put out the video camera this morning, for about 1 hour and 20 minutes. He focused it at the base of the suet feeder tree. Not a single bird visited the suet during that time. Then, Misty came out to do a bit of bird watching, for an hour this afternoon, and no warbler sighting. She saw a small flock of chickadees, but that is all. We are going to put the video camera out again on Tuesday, to capture longer footage. Hmmm... I don't know where all the birds have gone... On the bright side, having hobknobbed with all you wonderful birders has inspired us to go out and buy a decent pair of binoculars! We are looking forward to using them to try and spy the owls! I thank all of our visitors for being so kind to novice birders like us who don't know a crow from a raven;-) Happy Birding!

Well, we had a very satisfied "customer" over to view the warbler today. Josh Fecteau came up from Kennebunkport and visited twice. His first visit was between 7:52am-9:30am, and did not yield a sighting. However, he got very lucky from 12:43pm - 1:22pm. He said, "The warbler was present my entire visit." He also shot some video of it. Visit Josh's website, New England Natural History & Wildcrafting. I am hoping that he uploads the video of the warbler soon;-) I am also excited for the weekend when I'll have a bit more time to do some birding and to maybe take some video of the warbler myself! Drew made a short animated gif of it on the suet block that I just posted on Maine Nature Diary. Enjoy! And, have a great birding weekend! Laurie Haines

On top of the well is the YTWA's guest log book for you to sign in on. Our address is 405 Litchfield Rd., Bowdoin, ME 04287. Happy Birding!

However, Craig Kasselheim was our sunrise visitor, and he kept an eye on the feeder area from 6:55 am - 7:20 am. As he was pulling out of the driveway, he took one more look at the feeder station and saw the warbler! Yay! Unfortunately, the rest of the day's visitors were not successful. Drew said that a car full of 4 people showed up at around 9am - 9:25 am. Bill Bunn did not see the warbler on his short visit of 1:25 - 1:30. Joe and Diane Scott visited from 1:45 - 2:15 - no sighting, and lastly Misty Monroe stayed from 2:44 - 4:05 with not sighting. I hung out with Misty from around 3:20 -4:05, and at least we got to chat about birds...

Margaret Viens took some nice photos and posted them on e-bird. Great stuff! I always appreciate it when people shoot me an e-mail sharing their experience. She said that the warbler went from the little tree branch to the feeder on the tree, to the backyard, and later back to the suet feeder. It spent about 2 minutes at the feeder each time. At 10:15 am, Drew saw the warbler on the feeder where it grabbed a bite to eat, and then it flew straight to the kitchen window, veering off to the side, and then up to the roof to munch on breakfast, he thinks. Then, at 2:15pm, Julie Krasne saw the warbler. She posted about it on this Google group. Again, be careful when traversing the yard as it is getting slick. Sign in the warbler's guest book and shoot me an e-mail about your experience. I am also posting people's observations on our nature blog, Maine Nature Diary. We are at 405 Litchfield Rd., Bowdoin, ME 04287. Happy Birding!

Remember, you can park in the driveway, in front of the left-hand bay door. Lots of people stand near the well to bird watch, and the sign-in book is on top of the well. Today, the warbler was seen flying over to the eve of our neighbor's house (where there is an old phoebe nest), and then it flew across the street into the shrubs near the pond. So, we are getting more information about the bird's habits from people viewing it. Please feel free to e-mail us your observations. Thanks so much! Laurie (405 Litchfield Rd., Bowdoin, ME 04287)

I didn't think to put out a warning here ahead of time, and I apologize for that. We usually only run the dogs on Saturdays and Sundays anywhere from 1:30 pm to 3:15 pm. I'll try to alert you to this. I think we may have scared the birds away while the play session happened.

We didn't see him feeding, but as Drew walked past the stack of pallets (roadside to the suet feeder) he saw the warbler huddled in one of the slots of the pallets. The warbler flew off, but will hopefully be back as this is a great protected spot for it to hang out in. So, Don, I wonder if you saw it while you were in your car right next to the pallets today? Again, if anyone comes to look for the warbler, park in front of the left hand garage bay door. Thanks. That allows Drew to come and go as needed.

All the other birds stayed for about 10 minutes maximum.
10:50 am - Neighbor dog, Zoe, is in prime squirrel chasing mode which does not bode well for birds visiting the feeder right now. But, she went home when asked.
