A group of nine Merrymeeting Audubon folks, led by Doug Suitor (and others) birded from 8:30 until 1:00pm today checking out various locations around Brunswick. Even though it was advertised as a "Duck" trip, we were fortunate to find several specialty land birds including a PINE WARBLER on Rossmere Rd, a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT on Mere Point Rd, and two HERMIT THRUSHES at Mere Point boat launch. Duck variety was minimal, but numbers noteworthy with about 1000 GREATER SCAUP and many Common Goldeneye, Surf Scoter, and Long-tailed Ducks.
