There's enough great birding around Kennebunk you might be tempted to skip the marathon. It's not an exhaustive list, but check out the York County birding trail sites on http://www.yorkcountyaudubon.org. With those, eBird, and Maine-birds you ought to stay busy. Pelagics could be challenging.
