Stopped by Wharton's Point (Freeport/Brunswick) this morning and easily located the Juvenile Snow Goose reported yesterday in eBird by Gordon Smith.
-- It is a white morph juvenile and was located at first to the right of the boat ramp when looking at the water. The clammers were out working on getting their boats and gear ready and were walking back and forth fairly close. It was not overly concerned with them. It eventually walked off down the shore to the left of the boat ramp. For the next 15-20 minutes it had disappeared from view but as I was leaving I noticed it was back at the base of the ramp. Will be adding my eBird account shortly with pics.
In addition to the goose the spot was covered with sparrows, I picked out Song, Savannah, White Throated, and White Crowned, but there were so many I would not be surprised if something else was there as well. A Merlin flew over the parking area and then hunted the hedge line down the coast to the right of the ramp, and a Coopers was chasing and being harassed by some crows and a raven in the trees above the house on the corner. Warblers were few and all of the Yellow-Rumped variety.
Cheers,
Rob
