[Maine-birds] Eastern Phoebe nest building

Eastern Phoebes building a nest on my porch. They have tried several years and abandoned this space, so very narrow, but have been going like gangbusters the last 2 weeks ( much higher than this photo now) and they seem fairly undisturbed by the activity around; they just watch now from the apex of the roof nearest the nest rather than flying. Is there a messier nest builder ( this is my first nest!)?!?
