I still struggle with thrush ID's and had one throw me for a loop earlier this weekend. I had a brown Veery-ish looking bird with a pretty buffy crest on the top of his head. The bird didn't appear to have any chest spots... and it looked like he'd been banded four separate times. It didn't sing during my observation and flew away deeper into the woods when another birder approached. As always I appreciate any insight on whether I've ID'd correctly as a Veery. Thank you!
