[Maine-birds] Northern Shrike

Sunday 5/21/2017
While at the Larrabee cemetery in Machiasport I heard an odd (for me) song and found a breeding plumaged Northern Shrike. It was vaguely like a vireo song but much shorter and each time ended with a jay-like series of harsh notes. It sang several times then flew across the road and toward the shore of Larrabee Cove.
