[Maine-birds] Re: Scarlet Tanager, Camden

On Friday I had about 20 minutes to check out the Res in Hallowell (Town Farm Road) and was greeted by a male scarlet tanager right at the entrance He wasn't singing at first, just holding verious poses, at the tops of various second growth trees, that caught the morning sunlight.  Later, when hidden in the canopy of a larger tree (and how amazing that a bright scarlet bird can hide!) he started singing.  Auspicious indeed!

Seems auspicious to start the day with a Scarlet Tanager singing in our yard this morning, along with Chestnut-sided Warbler and Am. Redstart. (Especially exciting if you could see how small our yard is.)
