[Maine-birds] Re: Biddeford Pool: BLUE GROSBEAK...

Bird was driven off the beach by a walker around 10am Wednesday.  It disappeared over the houses and trees...ONLY TO RETURN an hour later to continue feeding on the beach wrack.

Hi all,

I stumbled upon a surprise male BLUE GROSBEAK this afternoon at the east end of Biddeford Pool Beach, near Bay Street. For most of my viewing, the bird was eating in the insect-rich wrack line, not far from a pair of SPOTTED SANDPIPERS. I've included photos of the grosbeak in my eBird checklist.

Best,
Josh
