The daily number of small shorebirds (Semipalmated Sandpipers and Plovers and Least Sandpipers) continue to be in the 1,700 to 2,000 range (probably an underestimate). Most of those birds are on the other side of the bay (about a mile away) so it is difficult to distinguish species even with our scopes.
Increasing numbers of both Greater/Lesser Yellowlegs and Black-bellied Plover are happening now. Flocks of 70+ Lesser Yellowlegs are not uncommon. We see up to 12 or so Short-billed Dowitchers as well.
