[Maine-birds] Seal Island NWR - Warbler Flight

Fascinating to read Derek's report from Sandy Point as on Seal Island NWR I didn't have a single American Redstart today!!! However, it was a excellent day for Cape May Warblers! We at least had 28 individuals but, easily could have had more. Lot's of birds flying overhead from 0530-0900 (I estimated 75 -100 birds including multiple flocks of 8-10 overhead) but, the cloud cover and work obligations kept me from assigning any ID's. Other migrant songbirds seen throughout the day included 2 Tennessee, 1 Bay-breasted, 1 Magnolia, 1 Nashville, 12 Yellow, 1 Northern Waterthrush, 8 Least Flycatcher, 1 Eastern Kingbird, 2 Red-winged Blackbird, 1 Brown Headed Cowbird.

Other highlights from the past couple days have included a continuing young Yellow-crowned Night Heron, and 2 Dickcissel.

All the best!

Keenan
