[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week, 10/6-12.

Hi all,

 

A few additional observations of note from me in the past seven days, not previously reported here, included:

- 1 American Golden-Plover, Sandy Point, Cousin's Island, Yarmouth, 10/7 (with Luke Seitz).

- 1 WESTERN KINGBIRD, 1 Dickcissel, 1 American Golden-Plover, 200+ Swamp Sparrows, 125+ Song Sparrows, etc; Private property in Cape Elizabeth, 10/8 (with John Berry).

- 1 Phildelphia Vireo and 1 Least Flycatcher, Joe's Pond Park, South Portland, 10/8 (with John Berry).

- 1 Field Sparrow and 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker, Bailey Island, Harpswell, 10/9 (with Jeannette).

- 1 American Golden-Plover, Thornhurst Farm, North Yarmouth, 10/10.

- 4 Red-breasted Mergansers (first of fall), Mackworth Island, Falmouth, 10/11.

- 1 LARK SPARROW, Wolfe's Neck Farm, Freeport, 10/12 (with Jeannette).  This bird, my first at this sparrow-rific site was at the edge of the bay next to the wooden bridge at the western edge of the farm.

- 1 Common Grackle has been at our store's feeders all week, as have - like most everywhere else - Pine Siskins, Purple Finches, and American Goldfinches.
