[Maine-birds] AMKE, Knox; PEFA, Searsport

Two falcon species today:
In Knox: a male American Kestrel was perched in a dead tree by a farm on Rt.137. Just seconds before I saw it, I was thinking "there should be a kestrel in this area."  Location of bird: http://goo.gl/maps/vIuPN Cropped photo of bird: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wnbirder/8450957907/ Not a great shot, but I believe that it is easy to ID from the photo.
In Searsport: a Peregrine Falcon was actively hunting Rock Pigeons over Rt.1 in the area of Searsport Motor Company. It wasn't successful while I was watching from the roadside, but it did offer an impressive display. ROPIs roost in a nearby barn, and I'm guessing that the falcon has hunted here before.
