[Maine-birds] Stilt Sandpiper at Weskeag marsh

Glenn Jenks, Don Mairs, and I saw a Stilt Sandpiper at Weskeag marsh. It was visible from the pullout on Buttermilk Lane. The bird was distant, as were most of the shorebirds, which were predominately yellowlegs mixed with a few dowitchers (Short-billed) and some peep (Semipalmated and Least). There were three juvenile Least Sandpipers on the Thomaston flats among the peep there. I had my first couple of juveniles back on the 28th of July in Clinton. Those young of the year always signal to me the beginning of shorebird migration heading into full swing.
