[Maine-birds] Canada geese-West Kennebunk

Spring keeps trying here by the Mousam; open water only a week and 5 Canadian Geese appeared mid afternoon honking and chasing each other...they were observed by a pair of Great Blue Herons, the male beplumed and handsome in the falling snow, the female tucked under some high branches. Both first of this spring or extended winter, whichever one prefers. Popping up also was a Hooded merganser male and later a female Common merganser. Perhaps we will make it after all...:)
