[Maine-birds] Sandhill Cranes, Fryeburg

Today there were 67 Canada Geese, a Red-tail Hawk, 6 Song Sparrows along
with 4 adults and 2 immature Sand-hill Cranes along the Old River Road
in Fryeburg Harbor. Based on observations and photos there seems to be 3
pairs with young of the year in the area from Kezar Lake South to Saco
River. How long does it take for the immature to get their red caps? I
believe there is a good chance that at least 2 pairs may have nested in
the area. The area along the Kezar Outlet is close to that of
Messalonskee Stream as you can get.
