Re: [Maine-birds] Orange-crowned Warbler

You might have had a "western" Palm Warbler. They are still the same species, but they are much browner overall. They lack the yellow wash which the "yellow" Palm Warblers have. The "western" are less common for Maine, still its always a possibility. Try looking at some pictures on Google and see if that fits your bird.

Thank you Louis. That bird I saw was foraging on top of the dead leaves in a wooded area vat the end of my driveway. Incessantly bobbing its tail. No wing bars, dull orange with a very faint eye stripe. Movements very deliberate. I've seen palms before but it didn't look like a palm. I am of course no professional so it easily could of been a palm. I've never seen an Orange-crowned Warbler before so that was my first though.
