[Maine-birds] FOY Cape May warbler in Hallowell, and a few other fun birds

Every few years a Cape May warbler lands on the tall native spruce atop the hill where we live.  Today it happened again.  beautiful male in dramatic plumage. Seen first around 7:10 am by Mike Waters out walking; I got a good look too over the next 10 minutes or so. Then blue jays showed up and they've been active in the tree most of the day, so I don't think it ever returned. Some years it spends a good part of the day in that tree.
Mike heard a wood thrush in the deep woods up Outer Central Street in the early am. A FOY Baltimore Oriole male is gleaning from the sugar maple tree now.  I was with a group of naturalists along Cobbossee Stream in Gardiner mid-morning and two FOY American redstart males were busy feeding, as well as a pair of FOY Eastern kingbirds.
Other spring beauties abound as well. Good day!
