Got to Weskeag Marsh in S. Thomaston at 3:30 and spotted the BLACK-NECKED STILT right away here, hanging out with 2 Snowy Egrets in the back of the large panne just left of the parking area.
Also here:
Lesser Yellowlegs - 4+
Short-billed Dowitcher - 6
Killdeer
"Peeps"- Semipalmated Sandpipers mostly - 25+
Nelson's Sparrow - heard 2-4 birds
Peregrine Falcon - 2 adult birds lazily harassing the peeps together and repeatedly swooping low over the egrets in a half-hearted way. The egrets and stilt barely flinched but the yellowlegs made noise and scattered.
