[Maine-birds] birding today: Bucksport to Caribou

Hi all -- leaving Bucksport mid-afternoon via the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and the west side of the mighty river, I am very sure I spotted four fuzzy headed Peregrines in the Prospect nest box.

Long trek north up I-95, onto Rte 11 at Sherman, n. to Ashland, thence NE through Washburn, Castle Hill, Mapleton etc. to Caribou.

Only a couple birds en route, since mostly driving without a stop:

Alton Bog I-95: N. Harrier male

Medway Rest Area: Pine Warbler

Masardis: Am. Kestrel 2

The County in evening light is stunning. Rolling farm country rolls out like a magic carpet, forever and ever.

Smitten,

Craig K
