Great day in the field today for Road Scholars, adding many birds to life lists and observations for the course. LITTLE BLUE HERON was a treat at Seawall, Green Heron at the MDI High School Ponds and Great Egret at Eagle Lake Beaver Pond. PURPLE SANDPIPER at Seawall

Comments: Road Scholar Ornithology of Down East Maine... As we approached the driveway for Seawall Campground an adult male LITTLE BLUE HERON in full breeding plumage flew across the road where it stopped in a low tree giving us ample time to photograph. This stop produced many great observations of Black Scoter, Little Blue Heron was the bird of the day!
