I happened to be standing at my kitchen window for all of 5 seconds when a barred owl flew across the back lawn and landed in the woods. I went out and got a pretty good look before it flew further into the woods. At that point I decided to leave it alone and come back inside for the coffee I was making (when I tell my wife the story I will say I was standing at the sink doing the dishes).
