Re: [Maine-birds] Ross's Goose - has it been relocated?

Hello mid-coast birders,

 

I would like to know if anyone has seen the Ross's Goose at Samoset or elsewhere and has it been seen today, February 5, 2013....  Would like to make better observations and therefore thinking about a quick trip tomorrow.

 

I hastily id'ed this bird as a Snow Goose on January 31,  in a rush back to a conference.  In retrospect, the comment I made in that report stated that I "saw a what appeared to be a Gull "oddly sitting among the CACO".   Thanks to Doug and others that correctly discovered the reason for my first observation of Gull sized Goose. It is in fact bigger than a Gull, and I quickly shelved the size of the bird when I saw the plumage....  which said small snow goose.  Yea....  back to conference!  It nagged at me all day that I should go and shoot that bird.....  back to Brewer for the last  men's volleyball game of the season.  This is a life bird which I would like to re-visit.
