[Maine-birds] barn swallow flight school

Our neighbor's barn swallows have been using our yard for flight school for this year's brood for the past week. The babies are a bit wobbly and spend a fair amount of time lined up on our roof begging--or chasing their parents and begging. They are still being fed. One of the cuter spectacles.

Our last batch of tree swallows is still in the box. The parents are working overtime to get these launched after their first nest failed.  Bluebirds also are in a box--about halfway to fledging.

And a wood thrush is singing from the patch of woods next to our house this a.m., a first for this location.
