Re: [Maine-birds] More on Northern Wheatear - Scarborough, 5/4

I saw the female Northern Wheatear about 5:50 p.m. in the fields west of Mason Libby Rd. Here is a map showing the spot: http://tinyurl.com/llrwlcs
The bird dropped out of sight as rain approached and was not seen again over the next hour under fading light and poor weather. The gray and brown milkweed pods on which the wheatear perched were the right size and color to make finding her a challenge. If you see one burst with white, you've got the bird, its tail and rump breaking the camouflage. Here is one of my photos taken between squalls: https://flic.kr/p/nuBcD6
