[Maine-birds] More life and death drama in Harrington!

Presently two Common Ravens are feeding on bits and pieces of a deer carcass on the ice of Flat Bay about 200 feet from our house. A Red Fox is tearing at the main portion of the carcass a few yards away from the ravens.  We were alerted earlier to the scene by a large flock of crows alighting in a tree on the shore and then a little later, 3 Bald Eagles (one adult, two not adult) spent a good deal of time flying very low in this area.

We don't have a clue what killed the deer!

On a more genteel note, our feeders are sustaining 5 woodpeckers (3 Downy and 2 Hairy) as well as mixed flocks of siskins/redpolls/Purple Finches.  Our two White-throated Sparrows are still hanging around.
