[Maine-birds] Pine Grosbeak - Jefferson

3 male Pine Grosbeaks were picking up gravel-salt on Bunker Hill Rd, Jefferson this morning.

A continuing drake No Pintail was at the Alewife Ladder, Damariscotta Mills.

No sign of geese anywhere in the area. Open water is getting dear. But the Damariscotta River, as it enters town, offers open water to a continuing large flock of Mallards, Com Goldeneyes, etc.

(We're losing the puddle at George Wright Rd., Woolwich. A small patch of open water remains downstream from the road. Enough room (barely) for a solo Com Goldeneye and a hen Com Merganser. )
