Shortly after 4PM today, I stopped by Grist Mill Park in Yarmouth. The Royal was nearly closed up with the exception of the area under the falls to about 20 feet from the other side of the bridge. When I arrived there were 5 red breasted, 10-12 Hooded, and 1 Common Merganser. It was great to see them all in such a small area. A good opportunity to compare sizes and coloration, etc. The RBM's did not like me poking my head over the railing of the bridge and took off shortly after I arrived, but the CM and HM's hung out the whole time. Last week there were Common Goldeneye's in there with some of the Mergansers. Always worth a look!
