[Maine-birds] HOODED WARBLER, WHITE-WINGED DOVE, etc. Monhegan, 5.17.15

A day of sun and fog out here on the island. Definitely more birds around today, with good pockets of warblers to be found. I'm up to 21 warblers species, with a female Hooded today's highlight (thank you to Laura and Laurie for helping me find it!)--and that's without an Ovenbird.

Other highlights of the day for me:

White-winged Dove - 1 continued today in the vicinity of the Ice Pond
Blue Grosbeak - 1 ditto
Sora - 1 in the Meadow this morning
Bobolink - 4+ singing in the Meadow (just love those guys)
Wood Thrush - 1, signing on the Burnt Head Trail
White-eyed Vireo - 1 from the brewery, making happy hour even happier
Bay-breasted Warbler - 2-3, including 1 or more males, 1 female
Prairie Warbler - 1
"Western" Palm Warbler - 1
Spotted Sandpiper - 1 at Ice Pond

And the usual Brown Thrashers, orioles galore, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Scarlet Tanagers, White-crowned Sparrows, and pheasants. And Mallard ducklings!
