I am going to keep an eye out at McDonald's. Their oatmeal has a lot of fresh fruit in it. I can visualize a 'white-faced grosbeak' picking fruit out of blueberry flavored Greek yogurt. Interesting evolutionary trends in action.
Bird report:
In the real world, I spent five hours standing on a ledge in a remote area of Jonesport yesterday:
5 Pine grosbeaks - Another pine grosbeak report (which are getting monotonous),
4 Boreal chickadees,
15 White-winged crossbills (three or four groups either flying over or feeding in surrounding black spruce, red spruce and hybrid red and black spruce (very common in this area),
3 or 4 Black-capped chickadees,
4 Golden-crowned kinglets
4 Common ravens
4-5 American crows
4 Red squirrels
1 Large porcupine snoozing about 3 feet up in a spruce tree
