[Maine-birds] White-winged Crossbill, Carolina Wren, Northern Shrike, Bohemian Waxwings, Redpolls, PIGR, - Waterville

I continue to be surprised at what I see in my neighborhood (Ridge Road,/Pleasant Hill Drive, Waterville) when I walk the dog.

This morning I had my regular Carolina Wren at my feeders, but also saw 1 male White-winged Crossbill near 2 female/imm Pine Grosbeaks on my walk.  (I watched carefully with my bins and saw the crossed bill, white-wing bars and it was much smaller than the grosbeaks and was very vocal - so it was NOT a male PIGR).

I did not post earlier, but on Tuesday I had 7 Common Redpolls in birch trees, 2 Bohemian Waxwings and one Northern Shrike on my walk.

Continues to look like a good winter coming for birds.
