[Maine-birds] Head Beach and Popham Beach - Sep 17

A nice bunch of migrants at Head Beach this morning, incl several Empis and a bright Yellow-bellied Fly.  Also 8 warblers, etc.

Meanwhile at Popham Beach as the tide began to ebb, 2 Am Golden Plovers, probably diff from the three here Sep 15 (none of those had traces of gold flecking on back feathers).
Over 300 Sanderlings in the surf zone, many juvies joining the regulars.
1 imm. Peregrine's overflight caused consternation among the feeding peeps.
at least 1 Merlin also terrorizing the place.

Still no Western Sands.
