I looked along the Kennebec River from head of the falls in Waterville to Skowhegan hoping to find Marianne's possible (American) White Pelican. Even though I had good views of nearly all sections of the river, I could not find the bird. According to Marianne, the bird was seen mid-afternoon 2-2:30 p.m. and flying quite high downriver from the direction of Shawmut dam towards the I-95 bridge. Sounds like it might be something to look for along the coast by now.
