[Maine-birds] hummingbird attack Phippsburg & pelican ?

Phippsburg, Me map 6 Totman Cove - my livingroom

Does anyone have any guesses why the Am white pelican was here? Or, could someone point me to a reference where I could read up on this? Thanks in advance.

Ruby Throated hummingbirds 2 females

Sunny and lovely here today.
My living room is 32ft x 32ft. Huge. It has 12 sides, 7 of which are glass. I can see lots of birds from indoors. I also have a computer in that room. Often, I am working at the computer and birding at the same time. I am located on the ocean and can see numerous feeders from the computer station. Today was such a day. I had noticed that there was a mini warbler fall out in my yard, so I had left the sliding glass doors open to the deck in hopes of a photo opp. In the mean time, the phone rang. Still sitting at the computer, I forgot that the doors were open. While yakking with my friend, suddenly not one but TWO RT hummers zipped  through the open doors racing right into the living room! They zoomed over my head at the computer, spun in a couple of circles and zoomed out. I had time to jump out of my chair as I screamed and yelled "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!" making my friend think something horrendous was happening. My friend is a believer that butterflies, dragonflies and hummingbirds are magical, so thinks I am somehow now blessed. I think it was just the petunia planters by the doors and bird aggression run amok. None-the-less, I'm hoping it means this is the day that Publisher's Clearinghouse is finally going to show up.

the other birds:
Northern Parula
American Redstart
Sharp-shinned hawk
Bald eagles 2 of them, thankfully not in the living room
Pileated Woodpeckers 2 of them
Northern YS flicker

more species here, but these are the swanky ones.

I am being over run with Mourning doves,  count is up to two dozen now daily. I could use an additional  Sharpie if anyone wants to shoo one this way.
