Not too much new and exciting today. 3 Continuing uncommon occurrences, and one "new" unusual sighting of an increasingly common winter resident.
1. Ring-necked drake continues George Wright Puddle - Woolwich
2. No. Pintail drake continues Damariscotta River, up from the small bridge in town
3. 2 (same) Glaucous Gulls continue at Owls Head Harbor, where the bubblers are not operating and the pens are freezing over
(Owls Head General Store now closing Sundays until April. Plan "B" for a burger.)
4. Another "rare" No. Pintail drake is loafing with other ducks at the Alewife Ladder, Damariscotta.
No sign of the Pink-footed Goose at any of the open water spots I know of. And no sign of grass poking through the snow at any hayfields nearby.
