It's been a fun morning watching our home feeders in Eastport. We have 100+ birds, mostly winter finches, buzzing around while a young Cooper's hawk makes strafing passes from time to time. I spotted my first hoary redpoll of the year; a very frosty male that stood out from the crowd. The clay-colored sparrow that arrived in early December has stuck around. It's interesting to see it feeding alongside redpolls.
