[Maine-birds] Newport northern pintails and Etna eagles, etc.

After heading to Newport this morning, and finding 7 northern pintails in the river below the dam outlet from Sebasticook Lake, viewed from North St. or Center St., I headed back to Bangor on Rt. 2. In Etna, where eagles have been fed recently (I saw 22 eagles there on Jan. 29.), I hoped to see more today. In the eagle tree (1045 Stage Rd. Etna, ME) I counted 12 common ravens, no eagles, and ...one BOBCAT. The animal was high in the tree that was full of eagles last week, and looked to be anxious to get back down. I watched for 30 minutes, and it very carefully moved around, but did not make much headway in its descent. It still had a long ways to go when I left.
