Does anyone have any ideas about why there are so many Bohemian Waxwings around this year? I saw a small flock of Bohemian Waxwings on the Perkins Ridge Road here in Auburn last week - have never seen more than one or two mixed in with Cedar Waxwings before.

To add to the numerous Bohemian Waxwing sightings, we saw a large flock of 240+ as rt.209 passes by Dromore Bay, another 52 at the house here in Richmond.
Nothing unexpected for birds at Popham Beach but an adult and pup Harp Seal on the Three Herons Isls was surprising to me. There was a group of 8 Harbor Seals about 200 m from the two Harp Seals. The pup must have been born locally.
