Re: [Maine-birds] Surfbird

Oh boy, this is extremely exciting to me.  I sure wish that I could be there to see this bird.  It brings back great memories of my trips to Maine and the great people I met and the birds I was fortunate enough to see.  I can picture in my mind visiting the East Point Audubon Sanctuary in 2012 and seeing the Chestnut-collared Longspur.  I remember looking down on the rocks where the Surbird has been seen.  I often tell people how great Maine is; especially for birders.  Where else can you see, in one state, birds such as Pink-footed Goose, Northern Hawk Owl, Red-billed Tropicbird, Barrow's Goldeneye, Northern Fulmar, and Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (I found one in the tidal marsh near Schoodic Point) just to name a few.

I spent an hour with the Biddeford Surfbird and the second shift of admirers this afternoon.

Very spiffy.
foted Goose,
My digiscoping attempts didn't make it through the first round of quality control scrutiny, but I can recommend David Ladd's shots from today:

Cheers
