Hi all,
A few sightings of note from me over the past seven days included:
- 8 Harlequin Ducks, Dyer Point, Cape Elizabeth, 4/27 (with Jeff Bouton and Jeannette Lovitch).
- 2 drake NORTHERN SHOVELERS and 1 drake Gadwall, ~100 scaup sp, etc, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 4/28 (with Andrew Wolfgang).
- 1 Louisiana Waterthrush, Pleasant Point Park, Buxton, 4/30.
- 4-5 Lousiana Waterthrushes, several locations in Limington, 4/30.
- 1 presumed TRICOLORED HERON x SNOWY EGRET hybrid continues (aka "Patches"), Scarborough Marsh, 5/1.
With a broad upper-level low stalled over the area, and mostly northerly winds all week, the progress of migration was mostly stalled, but a few personal "FOYs" for me arrived, including:
- 4 Laughing Gulls, Kettle Cove, Cape Elizabeth, 4/27 (with Jeff Bouton and Jeannette Lovitch).
- 1 Spotted Sandpiper, Florida Lake Park, Freeport, 4/28 (with Andrew Wolfgang).
- 1 Black-and-white Warbler, Maynard Marsh WMA, Limington, 4/30.
- 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Florida Lark Park, 5/1 (with Andrew Wolfgang).
- 6 "Eastern" Willets, Scarborough Marsh, 5/1.
- 1 Least Sandpiper, Scarborough Marsh, 5/1.
- 1 drake Blue-winged Teal, Eastern Rd, Scarborough Marsh, 5/1.
