[Maine-birds] Additional Highlights This Week and New Arrivals, 5/2-8

Hi all,

Additional sightings of note from me over the past seven days included the following highlights:

- 1 drake Gadwall and 1 drake Blue-winged Teal, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 5/2 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).

- 1 male PURPLE MARTIN, Rossmore Road, Brunswick, 5/2 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).

- 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, 5/4 (with clients).

- 3 Rusty Blackbirds, Capisic Pond Park, Portland, 5/4 (with clients). 

- 1 1st-cycle "Nelson's" Gull (in addition to previously reported 1st cycle Glaucous Gull), Old Port, Portland, 5/5 (with Andrew Wolfgang).

- 10 species of warblers (at one place) for the first time this season, led by 5 each of Ovenbird and Black-throated Green, Hedgehog Mountain Park, Freeport, 5/6. 

- 1 Glossy Ibis, Spring Brook Farm, Cumberland, 5/8.

And my personal "FOYs" this week were as follows - no holding up migration this week!

- 2 Northern Waterthrushes, Florida Lake Park, 5/3 (with Jeannette).

- 4 Black-throated Green Warblers, Florida Lake Park, 5/3 (with Jeannette).

- 1 Ovenbird, Evegreen Cemetery, 5/4 (with clients).

- 2 Black-throated Blue Warblers, Evergreen Cemetery, 5/4 (with clients).

- 3 Northern Parulas, Evergreen Cemetery, 5/4 (with clients).

- 2 Yellow Warblers, Capisic Pond Park, 5/4 (with clients).

- 2 House Wrens, Capisic Pond Park, 5/4 (with clients).

- 1 Least Flycatcher, Capisic Pond Park, 5/4 (with clients).

- 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird, our yard in Pownal, 5/4.

- 1 Wood Thrush, Evergreen Cemetery, 5/5 (with Andrew Wolfgang).

- 1 Black-crowned Night-Heron, Portland Harbor, 5/5 (with Andrew Wolfgang).

- 1 Blackburnian Warbler, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 5/5.

- 2 Eastern Kingbirds, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 5/5.

- 1 Magnolia Warbler, Hedgehog Mountain Park, 5/6.

- 2 White-crowned Sparrows, feeders here at the store, 5/6.

- 8 Nashville Warblers, Florida Lake, 5/7 (with Andrew and Jeannette).

- 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Florida Lake, 5/7 (with Andrew and Jeannette).

- 1 Winter Wren (finally!), Florida Lake, 5/7 (with Jeannette).

- 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler, Knights Pond-Blueberry Hill, Cumberland/North Yarmouth, 5/8.

- 1 Great-crested Flycatcher, Knights Pond-Blueberry Hill, Cumberland/North Yarmouth, 5/8.

- 1 Prairie Warbler, Knights Pond-Blueberry Hill, Cumberland/North Yarmouth, 5/8.
