[Maine-birds] Alewife run in Warren village

Due to early cold water temperatures, the alewife run is just beginning in earnest. Assemblage of the fish trap was completed yesterday and the trap door was shut. This means that most bird activity will be focused in the area below the trap (south of Main Street bridge.) The trap is opened on weekends to permit the upriver passage of all fish. At those times, the birds focus mainly on the upper river areas at Payson Park and up to the head of the tide.
